Nadia K. Waheed, MD, MPH, is Director of the Boston Image Reading Center and Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. Dr. Waheed received her medical degree summa cum laude from the Aga Khan University Medical School and a master’s degree in public health from the Harvard School of Public Health. She completed a residency in ophthalmology and a fellowship in retina at the Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary program in ophthalmology. She then joined the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute as a faculty member. This was followed by a year of international ophthalmology, after which she joined the Tufts Medical Center in Boston.

Dr. Waheed’s research interests include ocular imaging, diabetic eye disease, and age-related macular degeneration, as well as clinical trial design and analysis. She also retains a strong interest in international ophthalmology and has published extensively in ocular genetics and imaging. She is the editor of two books on ocular imaging, is the retina section editor for Eye and has been a reviewer for many journals, including Ophthalmology, American Journal of Ophthalmology, Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science, and Ocular Surgery Lasers and Imaging.
