Aaron Lee, MD
Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Washington
Dr Aaron Lee is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Washington and is an active committee member on a number of national organizations including the AAO Medical Informatics Technology Committee and the AAO IRIS Data Analytics Research Team. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and then attended Washington University in St. Louis for his medical degree. During his time there, he also completed a master’s degree in clinical investigations. He then completed an internship at St John’s Mercy Medical Center and was trained in ophthalmology at Washington University in St Louis. After finishing residency, Dr. Lee completed a medical retina fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, UK and then a surgical retina fellowship at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.Dr. Lee is currently focusing on two main projects: linkage of large clinical datasets to find novel associations for ocular diseases and deep learning for retinal imaging. His lab was the first to translate many of the leaps forward in artificial intelligence into ophthalmology and vision science.
